Former Cougs balling out across the NFL in Week 4 action
Gardner Minshew wasn't the only Coug making noise in the NFL this week. Week 4 saw a handful of former Washington State players show up in big moments, and if you blinked, you might have missed a few of them.
Jaylen Watson picked up where he left off for the Chiefs, logging tackles and staying sticky in coverage. That's the kind of consistency that keeps him on the field for a Super Bowl contender. Meanwhile, Abraham Lucas was back in the lineup for Seattle, getting reps at right tackle and giving the Seahawks the kind of steady edge protection they've missed when he's sidelined. And out in the secondary, Jalen Thompson kept doing Jalen Thompson things, racking up tackles for the Cardinals like it's a Tuesday practice in the Palouse.
It's not just about the stat sheets, though. It's about watching guys who ran stadium steps in the snow now holding their own against the best in the world. That's the Coug pipeline, and it's still flowing.
If you missed how the current squad handled business earlier this week, go back and read "Cougs Shut the Door on the Bulldogs, 4-0." The soccer team is holding it down on the pitch, and that kind of grit translates straight to the pros. Same DNA, different jerseys.
Go Cougs.
