Arizona Pool Trip: Swim Team Hits the Road for Two-Day Set
The swim team is packing the bus and heading for a pool that is not in Pullman. Arizona is the destination, and the Cougs have a two-day set in front of them. That is a lot of chlorine and a lot of miles, but this is what the non-revenue sports do. They grind.
It has been a busy stretch for Cougar athletics hitting the road. The volleyball team just pulled a Boise-Fresno doubleheader in the same week, which is the kind of travel schedule that makes you appreciate a cold Gatorade and a full tank of gas. The swim team is getting its own version of that this weekend.
You do not see the pool on TV every Saturday, but the work these athletes put in is the same work that built the program. They are representing the school in a state that is mostly desert and air conditioning, which is about as far from the Palouse as you can get. That is fine. Pullman travels well.
No word yet on how the water feels in Arizona, but we will find out. Go Cougs.
