Coug women's golf closes fall season with a trip to Hawai'i
The women's golf team is packing sunscreen and clubs for Hawai'i to close out the fall season. That is not a bad way to wrap things up. The schedule sent them to the islands for their final tournament before winter sets in, a reward for grinding through the fall slate. Maybe it counts as homework, but it beats studying in a library with wind whipping across the quad.
The program has been putting in work all semester. Playing in Hawai'i gives them a chance to end on a high note, and a good finish carries a lot of feeling into the offseason. There is no better reason to tighten up the short game than an island backdrop. Also, if you have ever played a round when it is 40 degrees and raining on the Palouse, you know they earned it.
While you are catching up on Cougar sports, check out our piece on Owen Eshelman. That kid walked into the coaches' office with questions, not a script, and they noticed immediately. It is a good read about a guy who understands confidence is earned, not given.
For now, enjoy the pictures of palm trees from our golfers. That is a flex we can get behind. Go Cougs.
