Two Coug coaches earn national Silver Waves recognition
Two Coug coaches just picked up national Silver Waves recognition. That's not a small deal. The Silver Waves program honors athletic staff who go beyond the stat sheet, coaches who build people, not just playbooks. And two of ours made the cut.
We don't know which two yet, or what sport. But it doesn't really matter. Pullman isn't a place where coaches get noticed for glitz. They get noticed for showing up early, staying late, and remembering your name after you graduate. This award sounds like it catches that. It's not a trophy for a winning streak. It's for the kind of work that happens in the weight room at 6 a.m. and in the film room when nobody's watching.
That's Coug coaching. We've got a long history of it, from the Palouse to the pros. It's good to see the national folks paying attention.
We'll have names and details as soon as the university puts them out. Until then, take the win. It's not a scoreboard win, but it's the kind that lasts.
Go Cougs.
