Doubles point locked in early as Cougs clean up to open the weekend
The doubles point is locked in. That's how you start a weekend. The Cougs came out clean and took care of business early, setting the tone before things could get messy. You don't win the weekend in the first match, but you sure can lose it. This team didn't.
It has been a good stretch for Wazzu sports. If you missed it, the football team buried Duquesne in a second-half avalanche, rolling 48-7. That one is worth your time if you want to watch a Cougar team that finishes what it starts. The golf squad is sitting pretty heading into the third round in Coeur d'Alene, and Bisgrove carded another top finish, taking second at the Ram Classic. That guy is stacking weekends.
Point is, this is the kind of weekend that makes you glad you pay attention. The details matter. The doubles point matters. The way a team handles the early stuff tells you everything about how they'll handle the late stuff. So far, so good.
Go Cougs.
