Coug Soccer Heads to Fullerton for a Non-Conference Test
The Cougs are heading south. No, not to the Palouse. All the way down to Fullerton for a non-conference test, and that is exactly what this should be. Soccer is a grind, and you do not get better by padding the schedule with cupcakes before the real stuff starts. Washington State has a program that expects to be in the tournament conversation. To stay there, you need games that push you. Fullerton is not a name that jumps off the screen nationally, but those mid-major programs are dangerous. They have something to prove. So do the Cougs.
This is the kind of trip that either sharpens you or exposes the rust. We all know the non-conference slate is about finding the rotation, figuring out who can handle the minutes, and building the chemistry that matters when the Pac-12 (or whatever we call it now) schedule hits. It is also a chance to get out of the cold and play on someone else's field. Pullman in late summer is gorgeous. Pullman in early fall can already bite. A trip to Fullerton means warm weather and a different kind of pressure.
Go get the result. Go Cougs.
