Clara Schön takes her game to Spokane for the Gonzaga Invite
Clara Schön is taking her game to Spokane for the Gonzaga Invite, which means a Coug will be swinging a racket right in the heart of Bulldog country. Good. We like that.
She is a Cougar tennis player, and that is enough to get our attention. Pullman does not produce a ton of pro tennis stars, so when one of our own gets picked for a tournament like this, we pay attention. Gonzaga's event is a big deal on the regional circuit, and having Clara there means she is competing against some serious competition. It also means she is representing WSU on a court that is not our own, which is always the best kind of representation.
We do not know how she will finish. We do not know if she will take the whole thing or just make a solid run. But we know she earned the spot, and that is the part that matters. Spokane is close enough for a Coug road trip. If you are in the area, go watch her. Cheer loud. Make sure she knows the Palouse showed up.
Tennis is a lonely sport. It is just you, the ball, and the other player. But when a Coug is out there, they are never really alone. Go Cougs.
