Volleyball fights through five sets, shows Pullman grit in thriller
It took five sets to settle it, but the Cougar volleyball team did not flinch. That is Pullman grit, plain and simple. You do not survive a five-set thriller by accident. You earn it point by point, swing by swing, until the other side finally runs out of answers. This team has been grinding all season, and nights like this are what make the bus rides and early practices worth it. They do not quit. They do not fold when the pressure gets loud. They just keep swinging until the whistle blows.
Cougar sports have a way of demanding that kind of fight. It is not always pretty, but it is always real. If you want to see another squad that refuses to back down, check out our piece on how "Bray's defense brings the heat, and a little revenge, to Corvallis." Same kind of stubborn, same kind of pride.
For now, though, the volleyball team gets the spotlight. They earned it. Five sets of pure, unapologetic Cougar effort. That is the kind of night that makes you miss the noise of Bohannon Gym. Go Cougs.
