Spring Trends from Knitting Patterns

I'm a knitter who spends too much time on Ravelry looking at patterns. With Spring's arrival the popular patterns have shifted away from heavier sweaters to lighter tops and accessories. I thought it would be fun to collect some of the trends I'm seeing there and get thoughts about how well they match up with trends at large!

For some additional context- I'm not a pattern designer, but I've been a knitter for years. The process of creating a pattern takes a long time with coming up with the initial idea, figuring out how to actually make it, drafting a pattern, and finally getting it tested and edited. So the patterns coming out now were likely started months ago, and then may take weeks or months for the knitter to complete.

Here's a few things I'm seeing a lot of and some examples;

Diagonal or Asymmetrical Openings

- Clematis Sweater by Emma Maier

- Crooked vest by Simone bergh <- This one is on my to-make list for Spring

Lots of little buttons

- Valerie Blouse by PetiteKnit (also a diagonal opening)

- loupy stripe cardi by Loupy Studio

Boat Necks

- Blouse No. 1 by My Favourite Things

- SABAI Top by Susanne Müller

- Miu Top by Una Gil <- I really want to make this one too

Ponchos

- Easy Breezy Poncho by Kylie Bromley

- Bloomlet Poncho by Vicyyy

Pointelle

- Marielle Blouse by Maria Schei Mogenstad

- Bon Bon Cardi by miir_knits

- Vilma Top by Gregoria Fibers

If you're a knitter do you agree with my picks? Are there trends you think I'm missing? Are you making any of these patterns?

And for anyone how well do you think this lines up with what we're seeing across trends this Spring? I feel like these things are all pretty trendy in general but I consume a lot of knitting content so I'm not sure if I'm just living in a bubble!
