i want to shave part of my hairline. what do you think about it? do you do it? how would i even go about it?
okay, i know this is a really strange thing to want to do for some. i myself am quite hesitant to actually do this, which is why im making this post.
the whole reason i am asking this question is i have quite a problem with the shape of my face, specifically my forehead. in the past, i always thought i looked SO masculine. none of my features look masculine, i have a round nose, thick lips, round brows, big eyes.. i wasnt sure what it was at first, i thought maybe my jaw is too square, my head is too big, and for the longest time i thought its just that my forehead is way too small. i always got bangs to cover it up, and by starting them a bit higher, it gave me an illusion of a taller forehead. but last year, someone in my family pointed out i actually have a somewhat high forehead. i had already been growing out my bangs for a while but after they said that i decided to keep growing them out and see what i look like. once i lost the bangs, i kept looking at my face. i went crazy trying to find out what made me look so masculine. one minute, my face looked too long. the next, it looked too wide. and after like, 5 minutes of looking at my face, id realise that realistically.. my face is perfectly balanced. until this last two months or so when i realised what was messing with my head.
my hairline is very square, and not just square, but very narrow! similar to how most men have it. im not sure how to explain this.. but you know how when you look at mens hairline, and they have this portion near the temples that "sticks out" onto the front of their forehead?? i have that, but even more than most of the men i know in my life, to the point that my babyhairs touch my eyebrows.
so, ever since i realised this, ive been wanting to just.. shave them off. but im stressed. its quite a big chunk of hair, and also somewhat long. im still not done growing out my bangs so its not contributing to the thickness of my hair, technically, but im scared of always having stubble on my forehead or something similar. its truely alot of hair, and its on a place i have rarely seen someone of my gender grow hair on. its also not like body hair, like it can literally grow super long if i let it. its already quite long. so, on one hand i wanna shave it, cause i do think its negatively affecting my appearance and self image, but its also scary! i now have this very visible area that i want to remove a lot of hair from, and i dont know anyone else who has done the same.
so i want to know. does anybody here do this or know anyone who does? how would i even go about it? is shaving the best way? its the only way i feel precise enough to use near the hairline, id be scared of taking off too much hair with waxing or threading and accidentally taking off hair from the rest of my head. i heard people doing this with their widows peak, but the area im talking of is really large. probably also too large for electrolysis.
also, i dont really wanna share a photo of myself, but my hairline looks similar to zayn malik's hairline for example, except the middle part of my hair is higher and i have no widow's peak which imo only makes my forehead area look more odd as it looks both long and narrow.
