Scanning my pictures not all are sannning..

software that comes with epson. I just developed some b/w film and some of the pictures on the negative are dark but put a light you can see the image. Now I scan the negatives on the scanner,only 3 of the 20 pictures where able to scan. Can some one tell me what im doing wrong or help me out with a good software? Thank you.
