Take me as an example to clean your hairbrush once in a while...
This is kind of a gross thing to admit, but I decided to clean my Denman hairbrush properly today. I've had it for about ten years and, while I've given it a rinse a couple of times, I've never taken it apart or really given it a good scrub because it looked fairly fine and it was such a pain to take apart or get between the bristles.
Well, I just tried to clean it and, uh, it was *messy*. The brush was really gross and covered in lint and hair. It was even black in places with grime, especially underneath the bristles. I got halfway through taking it apart and scrubbing all the componants with soap before realising that it was too far gone and just needed to go in the bin.
Anyway, I guess I'm cleaning my new brush when I get one. Going to the shops tomorrow and using a comb in the meantime. It sounds bad, but the fact that the dirt was invisible made me oblivious to how filthy it was.
The brush was probably worse than a toilet seat ngl. Feel like I need to scrub my whole house now.
